Inspired by William Shakespeare’s fairy tale play, and featuring the mesmerizing music of Felix Mendelssohn’s score by the same name, A Midsummer Night’s Dream will entice audiences into an ethereal world of love, mischief and magic. The familiar story follows the misadventures of two pairs of young lovers who flee to a moonlit forest, where they encounter the fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania, and their mischievous servant, Puck. The confusion, mayhem, high drama and comedy of the intertwined lovers, fairies and mortals is depicted through a playful portrait of dance created by Ballet Wichita’s Artistic Director and choreographer, David Justin.
