Accessibility
What is the policy for service animals at Orpheum Theatre?
Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited in the Orpheum Theatre, with the exception of service animals and service animals in training. Trained service animals (as defined by Title II & Title III of the ADA) are welcome inside the venue, but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Service animals will rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle. A guest whose service animal is not well-behaved or poses a threat to the safety of others may be asked to escort the animal off premises. Service animals in training are not permitted.
Can I bring an emotional support animal, or a therapy animal?
Per ADA, emotional support animals are not considered to be service animals. For the safety and comfort of all guests and staff, emotional support and/or therapy animals are not permitted inside the venue.
Are Assisted Listening Devices available at events?
Orpheum Theatre is currently not equipped with Assisted Listening Devices.
I require ADA seating. Can I exchange my seat, and how many people may join me?
When you arrive at the venue you may go to the Box Office and request to be relocated to ADA seating. Standard policy is one disabled seat plus three guests. This opportunity depends on availability of the seats.
Do you have an elevator to the mezzanine and balcony levels?
There is no elevator to the mezzanine or balcony levels at the Orpheum Theatre due to the historical nature of the building. The theatre offers accessible seating in various areas on the orchestra level at various ticket prices. Tickets for these seats are not available to the general public but will be released for sale when no two adjacent seats are available in the given price level. Each guest who requires accessible seating may purchase up to 3 adjacent seats for companions, subject to availability. Additional party members will be seated nearby or in other seating. Special consideration will be given to families for children’s productions. Please request accessible seating when you purchase your tickets. Where is ADA Accessible Parking located for Orpheum Theatre events?
ADA Parking will be located in the Orpheum Lot in the south-most row spaces next to the building. These spaces are first-come, first-served and available day of event.
The disabled identification card shall be available upon request if the disabled individual is using any disabled parking privilege. If the disabled individual is not in the vehicle or the disabled individual does not have his or her ID card available upon request, the vehicle is not entitled to use the disabled parking privilege. The owner’s receipt of the application for TEMPORARY placard shall be carried by the person it is issued to when using accessible parking. (K.S.A. 8-1,125).
If you would like a space closer to the main doors there is street parking available on First St. It is not designated ADA but closer to the theatre.
Does Orpheum Theatre offer sign language interpretation?
While not obligated by law, the Orpheum Performing Arts Centre desires to make reasonable accommodations at the Orpheum Theatre for the deaf and hearing impaired.
- • An ASL interpreter may be provided, when requested, for spoken word events, and is subject to the availability of ASL interpreters and the consent of each individual artist.
- • Request for an interpreter must come to the Orpheum Theatre Director no fewer than seven (7) days in advance of the event.
- • Accommodation may only occur as event staging permits, and cannot interfere with the event experience for other patrons.
Camera Policy
What is the camera policy at the Orpheum Theatre?
Non-professional, non-flash still photography is permitted at most events (disposable, digital and cameras with no detachable or interchangeable lens). Please note; for some events, at the request of the artist/performer/team, cameras of any type may be prohibited. Video recording devices, audio recording devices, monopods, tripods, and cameras with telephoto or interchangeable lenses (professional photography equipment) are not permitted inside Orpheum Theatre at any time. Management reserves the right to deny any electronic devise at their discretion. This policy will be strictly enforced.
Are audio, video or other recording devices permitted inside the Orpheum Theatre?
Audio, video or other recording devices are not allowed into the theatre. These devices include, but are not limited to, video cameras/camcorders and audio recording devices. Any equipment not conforming to these rules must be removed from the premises.

Doors Opening
What time do doors open for each event?
Door opening times and times of entry at Orpheum Theatre will vary according to each event but typically range from 30 to 60 minutes prior to the start of an event. Please visit the event specific page on our website or call 316-263-0884 for door times for a specific event.
Food and Beverage
The Orpheum Theatre offers cashless concessions, a cash-free experience where only card and mobile payments are accepted. This allows for limited direct contact between guests and employees and expedites the purchasing process for all guests. For guests who prefer to pay in cash, a Cash-To-Card option will be available to exchange cash for a loaded Visa card (currently available in increments of $20 and $50). The prepaid Visa cards are available at no extra cost and can be used at all Orpheum concessions and bars. Any remaining balance left on the card can be used anywhere that Visa is accepted worldwide.
Can I bring outside food or drinks into the Orpheum Theatre?
Orpheum Theatre does not allow outside food and beverage items into the venue during events. Guests will be asked to dispose of unauthorized items prior to entrance into the theatre or return them to their vehicles.
What kind of alcohol is served at the Orpheum Theatre?
Beer and liquor are available for purchase by patrons 21 years of age and older. Guests are required to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages. Alcohol sales are discontinued approximately 30 minutes before the end of the event.
What is the alcohol policy at Orpheum Theatre?
Orpheum Theatre and its food and beverage department have adopted an alcohol policy that is designed to protect guests and the community from alcohol-related incidents.
Guests are expected to obey all state and local laws governing the purchase, possession and consumption of alcohol. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. The following items are to be noted:
- • Orpheum Theatre reserves the right to deny entry to anyone who appears to be impaired.
- • Alcoholic beverages are served in nothing larger than 20 ounce containers.
- • Guests must show a valid ID each time they purchase an alcoholic beverage.
- • There is a two drink limit per purchase.
- • Anyone under the age of twenty one (21) who is observed to be in possession of or consuming alcohol on the premises will be ejected.
- • Orpheum Theatre will implement ongoing responsible alcohol management training sessions for its serving staff.
- • For most events, service of alcohol will end 30 minutes into the main headliner at events.
- • All alcoholic beverages must be discarded by the guest prior to exiting the building.
What food and beverage items are available for purchase at events?
Orpheum Theatre serves basic concession items such as Pepsi products, popcorn and candy. A full service bar is open at most events. Pizza is served by the slice on movie nights.
Are water/drinking fountains available inside Orpheum Theatre?
There are no water/drinking fountains inside the theatre.
Group Sales
I am planning to bring a large group to an Orpheum Theatre event. Can I get a group discount on tickets?
Specific shows/events allow group discounts at the permission of the event organizer. The standard number considered to be a group is 10, but can vary on a show by show basis. Please visit the Group Sales page on our website for additional information.
Guest Services
Are there ATM machines located inside the Orpheum Theatre?
There is an ATM located in the theatre foyer, behind the Orchestra seating. The Orpheum now offers cashless concessions, but cash may still be used at the box office and merch stands when accepted by the tour.
For guests’ convenience, our concessions and bar accept all major credit cards and mobile pay.
What is the policy for service animals at Orpheum Theatre?

If I am attending an event with a baby or small child, what items are permitted inside Orpheum Theatre?
Baby bags, plastic bottles and formula are permitted into the building. The bag cannot obstruct the view of other guests.
What bags are permitted inside Orpheum Theatre?
No bags in excess of 14″ long by 14″ wide by 6″ high will be permitted. All bags and guests will be searched.
Are binoculars permitted at Orpheum Theatre events?
Guests are welcome to bring their binoculars for most events at Orpheum Theatre. It is always best to check before attending the event.
Does the Orpheum Theatre provide a coat check?
Orpheum Theatre does not have an area to check coats or personal belongings. Orpheum Theatre is not responsible for any property that is lost, stolen or damaged.
What is the Code of Conduct for the Orpheum Theatre?
At the Orpheum Theatre, we are committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. Our staff is here to support an environment where each event will not be disrupted by the interference of guest actions to include obscene language or gestures, or any other disruptive behavior.
How can I communicate any comments or concerns while attending an event at Orpheum Theatre?

Are strollers permitted inside Orpheum Theatre?
Yes but they will need to be secured either in the back of the auditorium or on the mezzanine level.
Lost and Found
Where is the Lost and Found located at Orpheum Theatre?
During an event, guests should ask a staff member or volunteer to inquire about lost items. After an event, please contact the Orpheum administrative office at 316-263-0884 with a description of the item and the date it was lost. Orpheum Theatre accepts no responsibility for lost items.
Merchandise
Where can I buy Orpheum Theatre merchandise?
Orpheum Theatre 100th Anniversary and merchandise is available for sale at the downstairs concession stand during events. To make special arrangements to purchase Anniversary merch during office hours, please email us or call 316-263-0884. General Orpheum merch such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tank tops can be purchased online at our Bonfire store.

What can I expect the temperature to be inside the Orpheum Theatre for an event?
The temperature inside the Orpheum is 72 degrees during most events.
Your sound system is too loud, or not loud enough. Can you tell your audio people to fix it?
Orpheum Theatre does not control the sound system for concerts. The show provides their own equipment and handles the sound level.
What security is in place to ensure my family’s safety?
The Orpheum Theatre staffs both private security and off-duty sheriff’s officers to provide security before, during and after events.
Is tailgating or overnight parking allowed?
No, Orpheum Theatre does not permit tailgating or overnight parking.
Can I host a business meeting or special event at Orpheum Theatre?

What is the dress code at the Orpheum Theatre?
All guests attending events at the Orpheum are required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times for their own safety. Orpheum security and staff reserve the right to deny entry to guests wearing clothing items displaying offensive text and/or images.
What are the emergency evacuation plans for Orpheum Theatre?
Orpheum Theatre has in place emergency evacuation plans for each event. The venue’s goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment by using systems and plans that have been approved by the fire department and law enforcement officials. All staff and security personnel have been trained in theatre operations and emergency response procedures. In the case of emergency, guests must comply with requests from venue staff regarding these operations.
Is the distribution of flyers, printed materials or product samples permitted at Orpheum events?
The distribution of flyers, printed materials or product samples is not permitted without written permission from the Orpheum Theatre. Please contact our office at 316.263.0884 for more information.
Can I request a Meet & Greet for an event at Orpheum Theatre?
The Orpheum does not schedule or process Meet & Greets. Please contact individual artists through their websites for more information.
Will guests be searched prior to entering the Orpheum?
All guests entering Orpheum Theatre will be searched and have the belongings searched. The Orpheum reserves the right to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the event or other guests or which are in breach of building policies and/or prohibited items. Any guest who declines to be searched may be denied entry and ejected from the Orpheum Theatre.
Are signs, banners or posters allowed inside Orpheum Theatre?
Signs, banners and posters are not permitted inside the Orpheum Theatre.

Where am I able to drop guests off at for an Orpheum Theatre event?
Vehicles needing to drop guests off may do so on Broadway just north of First Street. This includes hotel shuttles, limousines and buses.

Smoking Policy
Is smoking permitted at the Orpheum Theatre?
The Orpheum is a smoke free facility, which includes E-Cigs and Electronic Cigarettes. Patrons may exit through the main theatre doors to smoke and will be allowed back in with their ticket.
Ticketing
What is the convenience fee? Do I have to pay it if I purchase tickets at the box office?
A convenience fee is a processing and manufacturing fee on tickets when purchased over the phone or online. Tickets purchased at the Select-A-Seat Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena or the Orpheum Theatre Box Office (see box office page for hours) may have a minimal facility fee or will not have any additional fees.
I purchased tickets, but now there are better seats available. Can I exchange my tickets?
Unfortunately, you cannot exchange tickets. When buying tickets, you must remember that everyone has access to the same tickets and these are available through every outlet, over the phone, and online. Sometimes a buyer does not complete the purchase transaction, and their seats are released back for others to buy.
I require an ADA Accessible seat. Can I exchange my seat, and how many people from my party an sit with me?
When you arrive at the venue you may go to the Box Office and request to be relocated to ADA seating. Standard policy is one handicap seat plus one guest. This opportunity depends on availability of the seats. ADA seating with up to three companion seats may be purchased prior to day of show.
What age does my child have to be to require a ticket?
Most events do not require a ticket for children under the age of two. However, in order for a child to have his/her own seat, a ticket is required. Some shows intended for young children (i.e., PBS Kids touring shows) require children over the age of one to have a ticket. To inquire about age requirements for specific events, please call 316-263-0884.
What is Will Call and where is it located?
Before the day of the event, Will Call is located at the Select-A-Seat Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena. On the event day Will Call will be open at the Orpheum Box Office. If you purchase your tickets close to the date of the show, Select-A-Seat will put your tickets at the box office for you to pick up rather than mailing them. You will need photo identification and the credit card used to purchase the tickets when picking them up from will call.

May I re-enter Orpheum Theatre once I have left?
Orpheum Theatre has a “no re-entry” policy during events. Guests who wish to return a prohibited item to their vehicle or need to exit and re-enter due to personal emergencies, must first make contact with an Orpheum manager or usher to make necessary arrangements.
If tickets to an event are not on sale yet, how can StubHub.com, Ticketsnow.com, etc., already have tickets for sale at inflated prices?
The Orpheum Theatre does not provide tickets to these companies. These sites are “speculating” that the sections they have listed will be available for them to sell. Re-sellers don’t buy tickets themselves. They provide an online marketplace for ticket brokers or individuals looking to sell and consumers looking to buy. To avoid issues with counterfeit, stolen or voided tickets, guests should make their purchases through Select-A-Seat ticket outlets only.
How do I purchase tickets to an Orpheum event?
Tickets for events at the Orpheum Theatre can be purchased by phone at 316-755-SEAT (7328), online at www.selectaseat.com and at the Select-A-Seat box office at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The event I purchased tickets for has been cancelled or postponed. Who do I contact regarding ticket information?
In the rare event that an Orpheum event is cancelled or postponed, please contact Select-A-Seat for more information at 316.755.SEAT.
At what age is a child required to have a ticket for an event at Orpheum Theatre?
For most events and concerts, children two years of age and younger do not require a ticket to be admitted into the Orpheum; however, they must sit on an adult’s lap and may not occupy a seat. Any child three years of age and older will require a ticket to enter the theatre and must occupy their ticketed seat only. What do I do in the case of lost or stolen tickets?
