The historic Orpheum Theatre is excited to announce a new series to add to its 2022 film programming, the Black Lens Film Series, presented by Cox.

The new series kicks off Thursday, April 7 with the current Oscar and GRAMMY-nominated film, Summer of Soul, directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. The series focuses on stories by Black directors and screenwriters including, Thompson, Ryan Coogler, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Spike Lee, and Kemp Powers, with five films that reflect the diversity of the Black experience. The films highlight and celebrate family, community activism, Black love, and Black joy.
